OWAC Shirley Miller Photo Contest Winner

I recently attended the Outdoor Writer’s Association of California Fall conference held in Mammoth Lakes, Calif. Conference attendees were encouraged to submit some of their images taken during the conference to the Shirley Miller photo contest. At the end of conference banquet they announced the winners of the show’s two categories, Action and Landscape. I was a little disappointed that¬†they didn’t choose any of my photos for either category, but I figured I was very new to the organization and needed to learn more about what they were looking for. ¬†Then they announced the Shirley Miller Memorial Photo Contest-Overall winner and it was my photo of the snow fence on the top of Mammoth Mountain. Needless to say I was very surprised and honored. Thank you OWAC and the Sheet <www.thesheetnews.com> in Mammoth Lakes for publishing the photo and the info about the award.
